Interception
Most fighters and a few other airplanes have passive interception henceforth referred to as interception Look at the fire rate FR of an airplane in your depot or on your ship If it has a drop down that says Intercept RoF then that airplane can intercept As with other weapons carriers RLD stat affects Intercept RoF In flight the anti air effectiveness of the intercepting aircraft depends on the mother carrier s level current stats AVI and RLD and current airplane slot efficiency Technically HIT and LUCK matter too but because enemy airplanes have only 1 EVA differences in HIT and LUCK make less than a 1% difference through crit rate Note Interception works entirely independently of carriers main airstrikes and skill barrage airstrikes When an enemy airplane is doing a strafing run in PvE it s going from right to left and your interceptor is off cooldown the carrier launches the interceptor When one plane is launched it puts the carrier s interception queue in cooldown for 0 5s preventing all other intercepting planes from launching during this time In effect this means that each plane launches 0 6s after the previous if it is ready For example an Illustrious with Flapjack Focke Wulf 190 A 5 and Wyvern will launch 8 planes 3 Flapjacks 3 fw190a5 and 2 Wyverns with 0 6s between each taking 4 2s to finish After around 3s more the first Flapjack to launch will finish its 7s cooldown Each airplane has its own cooldown and each carrier has her own interception queue cooldown Then the airplanes use their guns to shoot enemy airplanes
